The Village of Fredonia features historic Victorian homes

throughout the village, and a downtown that includes pizzerias, cafes and coffee shops, various ethnic cuisine, and a variety of locally-owned stores. Fredonia also hosts several street and community festivals all year long.

1891 Fredonia Opera House: Described as a “Queen Anne with an eclectic flair”, this venue is home to Bach and Beyond Music Festival, Cinema Series first-run movies, Folk in Fredonia Music Series, Live at the Met Series, and Stage on Screen Series. Located in the Village of Fredonia within minutes from the EWI, you will find a range of events and activities to enjoy.

State University of New York at Fredonia: Fredonia is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts university in western New York that offers bachelor’s and master’s degree and advanced certificate programs. Culture, art and athletic events are available year-long. Fredonia encompasses music, dance, theatre, and the visual arts in traditional and new media, from world-renowned performers and artists to open mics and student gallery shows.

Point Gratiot Beach & Park: Explore the Lake Erie lakefront with tennis, life-guarded swimming, playground, picnic area, pavilions, and restrooms. Trails for bicycling and fishing. No admission or parking fee.

Dunkirk Lighthouse & Veterans Park Museum: Visitors love to explore the historic operational lighthouse, experience a superb guided tour of the lighthouse museum, and admire the magnificent view of Lake Erie from our lighthouse observation deck.

National Comedy Center: Opened in August 2018 in Jamestown, NY, the 37,000-square-foot museum complex offers an unprecedented visitor experience using state-of-the-art technology, interactivity and personalization to create the first true 21st Century museum environment.

Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz Museum: From props and costumes, to sets and personal memorabilia, this tribute to the comic genius that was Lucille Ball has it all.  The museum has grown substantially in the last decade and is home to a national comedy festival with top-named performers every year.

Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History: The Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History was founded in Peterson’s hometown of Jamestown, NY, as an educational institution charged with preserving Peterson’s lifetime body of work and making it available to the world for educational purposes.

Lily Dale Spiritual Center: The Lily Dale Assembly is the World’s Largest Center for the Science, Philosophy and Religion of Spiritualism, now celebrating it’s 140th year. Each day of the season offers a series of events and experiences to bring information, enlightenment, hope and peace to those who open their hearts to receive.

McClurg Museum: Home to the Chautauqua County Historical Society, this 14 room frontier mansion boasts fine art collections, antique furnishings, artifacts and archival treasures. Tours and special events are available throughout the year.
